⚠ final report, not updated

Final report as submitted for coursework. Suggestions raised during the external evaluation have not been addressed — the report and the code reflect the submitted version.

Status: maintained occasionally.

Artisan Nepal (built as DOKO) is my BCA 6th-semester project: an online marketplace for handmade products and original artwork in Nepal — a dedicated storefront for local artisans rather than a general-purpose shop.

The problem

Artisans in Nepal often lack a direct route to buyers and depend on middlemen, which eats into already-thin margins. DOKO gives them their own listings, order and sales tooling, and direct contact with customers.

What it does

  • Listings — artisans add, edit, and manage products with images and details.
  • Discovery — buyers browse and filter by category.
  • Reviews — customers rate and review products.
  • Orders — order tracking from placement through fulfilment.
  • Sales analytics — dashboards so sellers can see how their shop performs.

Stack

Layer Choice
Frontend Next.js, React.js, Tailwind
Backend Node.js, Express.js
Database PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM
Auth JWT sessions
Media Cloudinary for product images

Engineering notes

The report documents the full stack, and the diagrams below cover the analysis and design — class, object, sequence, activity, state, component, and deployment views, plus the process-order flow.

Known limitations

The code has been maintained only occasionally since submission. The live demo may be slow or partially broken as the free deployment sleeps, and features described in the report were not extended after the external evaluation.
